She has experience advising clients on a full range of family law matters, including financial provision on divorce, cohabitation, child residence and contact disputes. She regularly appears in the sheriff court. She also has experience dealing with Court of Session actions and acting as an Edinburgh agent for other solicitors.
Melissa is approachable and sensitive in what she understands can be a very difficult time for clients. She enjoys working with clients to provide options for their family law issues and to help them find practical solutions to their problems.
She was previously a volunteer with Family Mediation Lothian (now Family Journeys) and was latterly a contact centre organiser. This has provided her with useful practical experience when advising clients in relation to the options available in terms of contact.
Melissa also has professional working competency in French and Spanish.
