As outlined in our 5 February blog on Home Office fee increases, the Home Office intended to make changes to the fees under various nationality and immigration routes, including increasing fees for British citizenship, for Electronic Travel Authorisation for visitors and for Certificates of Sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route.
Further to the announcement on 16th January confirming these intended increases, the increased fees came into effect on 9th April. On this date, there was also, despite there not being an announcement to this effect, an increase in other fees including for out-of-country applications, in-country applications for leave to remain and applications for indefinite leave to remain.
Some of the main changes are:
- Applications for entry clearance on a route to settlement, for example, as a partner – fee is now £1,938 (up from £1,846);
- Applications for leave to remain, for example, as a partner – fee is now £1,321 (up from £1,258); and
- Applications for indefinite leave to remain, for all applications, regardless of the route – fee is now £3,029 (up from £2,885).
If you would like any advice or assistance in respect of an application for entry clearance, leave to remain or indefinite leave to remain then please do not hesitate to contact one of the experienced solicitors in our immigration team.
