Saima worked for more than a decade with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service for Scotland where she spent the last 6 years of her service within the Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit. During her time there Saima gained experience in many complex and high profile Fatal Accident Inquiries and investigations including a number of inquiries arising out of healthcare issues.
Saima’s passion for medical law led her to complete a Diploma in Forensic Medical Science at Glasgow University and gain her LLB from Strathclyde University following which she joined Peacock Johnston in 2017 where she trained and specialised in Medical Negligence, Family and Criminal Law. Saima has extensive experience in a wide range of Court work and advocacy in both the Civil and Criminal Courts including the Court of Session as well as Tribunals across Scotland.
Saima has successfully pursued and negotiated settlements in a variety of complex medical negligence cases and describes her approach being one of sensitivity combined with diligence and pragmatism. Saima works hard to achieve the best outcome for her clients at all times.
Out with the office, Saima enjoys travelling, hiking and exploring Scotland as well as reading and socialising with family & friends.
