Hi, I'm Mollie, a second-year trainee in the Family Law department. What drew me to Drummond Miller was the wide variety of practice areas the firm specialises in.
I've found the supportive culture across the firm to be a big part of my experience, with colleagues always willing to help or make time for a chat.
I spent my first year with the firm based in our Edinburgh office, mainly assisting other fee earners before taking on my own clients. I am now based in our Dalkeith office for my second year, where I am enjoying taking on more responsibility, working with new clients and managing my own caseload.

Direct Client Contact
I was surprised at how quickly I was phoning and emailing clients directly, meaning my confidence and communication skills developed early on.
Court of Session
I enjoyed being involved in a child abduction matter. It felt very rewarding to provide the client with security and protection, and to see the theory of these actions in practice.
It’s not just about remembering the law
I have found a lot of learning as a trainee has been managing my workload and having the confidence to make my own decisions.
