Cheryl is an Associate solicitor in the Family Team in Dalkeith and Musselburgh.
She graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the University of Glasgow in 2016. The following year, in 2017, she completed the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow before completing her traineeship at Drummond Miller.
She is regularly instructed by clients whose children are subject to child protection proceedings or have been referred to the Children’s Reporter. She has been involved in a number of complex cases and has experience in instructing Counsel as well as medical experts. She is also regularly instructed by children.
Cheryl also has experience dealing with financial separation involving cases of cohabitation and divorce. She is routinely instructed in cases where there is a dispute regarding contact with and residence of children. Cheryl has been instructed by parents and other family members in applications to the court in relation to parental responsibilities, parental rights, guardianship and the administration of a child’s property.
Cheryl works collaboratively with other professionals involved in her cases with the aim of achieving a good outcome for her clients. Her approachable and understanding nature is valued by her clients.
Cheryl was a panel member and Chairperson at the Children's Hearing System for 3 years, involved regularly in a variety of Hearings. She was also one of the youngest panel members to ever be appointed at that time.
Cheryl has been recommended to the Scottish Government for appointment as a Safeguarder in Children’s Hearing proceedings.
In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys photography and quizzing. She attends at a local quiz each week.
