As Senior Partner of the firm of Peacock Johnston, Andrew oversaw the transformation of Peacock Johnston over the previous 25 years into one of Scotland’s foremost Clinical Negligence firms prior to the merger between Peacock Johnston and Drummond Miller in June 2022.
Andrew was the first Glasgow based Solicitor to be accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in both Personal Injury Law and Clinical Negligence Law and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland Medical Negligence Law Specialisation Panel. He has acted as a Reporter for the Scottish Legal Aid Board since 1997. He was previously a member of the Greater Glasgow Local Medical Research Ethics Committee and was a Member of the No-Fault Compensation Review Group chaired by Professor Sheila McLean. Andrew previously taught Medical Law at Edinburgh University and continues to teach law both at University and also to the legal profession.
Andrew is known for his meticulous analysis of medical issues in complex cases and also for his sensitive handling of many complex and high value Clinical Negligence cases over the years. He also has extensive experience of conducting complex medical Fatal Accident Inquiries, having variously acted for health professionals and families in many of Scotland’s most complex Inquiries.
