On Saturday 14th June, colleagues from Drummond Miller swapped their work attire for their running gear as they participated in the ‘Pretty Muddy 5K’ to raise funds for Cancer Research.
The five kilometre course around Strathclyde Country Park was broken up by various muddy obstacles designed partly to challenge participants and mostly to ensure that nobody crossed the finish line in clean clothes.
Participants from team Drummond Miller crawled under army nets through muddy swamps and climbed over mud walls before ending the course with a splash into a pool of murky water at the bottom of a giant slide.
Despite a downpour ahead of the start line serving only to make the course more treacherous, everyone remained in good spirits thanks to the knowledge that their suffering was all for a good cause - raising money for vital research into the prevention and treatment of cancer.
Well done to the Immigration Team in Glasgow and our HR manager, Sam, who raised over £1,800 for Cancer Research.
The weekend was a continuation of Drummond Miller’s charitable efforts, with colleagues from the medical negligence team in Edinburgh recently completing a ‘colour run’ obstacle course and a cross-branch team putting in a valiant effort at the ‘Business Fives’ football tournament.
