Twelve members of staff from our Glasgow office took part in the Kilt Walk on Sunday, 28th April 2024. The team took part in the ‘Big Stroll’, which started in Clydebank and finished on the shores of Loch Lomond – a distance of 14.5 miles. This was the team’s second successful completion of the event, having previously braved the walk in rather unfavourable weather conditions in 2023. Fortunately, the weather conditions were a bit brighter this time.
This year, our chosen charity is Starter Packs Glasgow, which helps individuals and families across Greater Glasgow by providing packs with housing essentials, such as crockery and bedding. The packs are available by referral to anybody experiencing poverty, often after being homeless, fleeing domestic situations, moving on from the forces, prison or care. These help to empower people to build a new life with dignity, ease their financial burden, and alleviate poverty and the mental and physical ill health that can be caused by it. They allow people to settle into their new home more quickly, reducing the chances of having to leave the tenancy – helping to break the cycle of homelessness.
We have raised a total of over £1,190 so far through firm wide fundraising events, which included two raffles, and generous donations via our Just Giving page from colleagues, family and friends.
