The role

A traineeship at Drummond Miller is an opportunity to learn from highly-skilled, experienced and widely-respected legal specialists in a supportive and friendly working environment. Our trainees play an important part in our teams from the start and are accorded increasing responsibility over the course of their traineeships.

Our trainees may spend time between our litigation, private client, conveyancing, family law and immigration departments. Trainees often commence work in our head office in Edinburgh or in Glasgow but they may also be required to spend time in one of our branch offices. Having a driving licence, therefore, is preferred.

How to apply

Applications should be made by sending a CV (not exceeding 4 pages) with a covering letter/email to ldann@drummondmiller.co.uk

Why apply for a Traineeship

Mollie Castle, Trainee Solicitor, Family Law
The Drummond Miller team are incredibly welcoming and supportive. Whilst you are given a lot of responsibility from early on, there is plenty of assistance around and everyone is very friendly.

Jennifer O’Donnell, Trainee Solicitor, Litigation
I enjoy being able to work on a variety of things in one day, in the morning I could be in a client consultation and in the afternoon, I am in court for a hearing. Although I am part of litigation there is an overlap with other departments which has been great for increasing my knowledge and allowing me to work with different teams. It is a great working environment; you are given a lot of responsibility and get a real taste of what it is like to be solicitor dealing with your own cases. Although the team are always if you have questions and to support you.

Ruairidh MacGregor, Trainee Solicitor, Immigration
I’ve loved how friendly and supportive everyone at Drummond Miller is and you feel part of the team from day one. You get hands-on experience and real responsibility, which makes it a great place to learn as a trainee.

Louisa Crookshanks, Trainee Solicitor, Immigration
The traineeship has provided me with invaluable experience across a diverse range of cases and the opportunity to learn from some of Scotland’s leading Immigration lawyers. The firm is an extremely welcoming and friendly place to work, where you are given the independence to learn but still feel sufficiently supported.
