Brian graduated from Dundee University in 1989 with LLB (Dist) and in 1990 with DipLP (Dist). He is a member of the Employment Law Group and Family Law Association.

Brian commenced his traineeship with Drummond & Co (now Drummond Miller) in 1990. He was appointed an Assistant at the firm's Dalkeith office following qualification in 1992. Brian was promoted to Associate in 1995 and as a Partner in 1998. Brian is a member of the firm's Management Board and currently manages the Dunfermline Office.

Brian specialises in litigation with emphasis on Employment Law and Family Law.
